Nangijala - October 2008

We visited this new boulder sport on a perfect autumn day. At the moment there are 4 spots which are scattered along the river "Ruhr". On our first visit (yes we will come back for more bouldering) we went to the "Nangijala" spot. Daniel Pohl developed all these new spots. He did not only clean the boulders but also created even landings by building a lot of dry stone walls. Between your boulder attempts you can rest in some of the chill-out corners were Daniel placed wooden chairs and tables.

If you visit this spot in the summer you can jump in the Baldeneysee which is a huge lake just 20 metres away form the crag.

Hangwaage 7a something crimpy

You'll climb on sandstone, which should be similar to the famous gritstone, in all the spots. I just can confirm that it has really good grip. Most of the boulders are located 7a and above.

Hallo Thomas,
